For almost ten years, he served as the Manager of Construction for the Catholic Diocese of Kansas City-St.

Joseph. greatest joy was building new churches and working with parish communities. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Carole M. Jones; a son, Rayan Michael Derakhshandegan; grandson, Ryan Michael Stinson; a sister, Loretta A.

Kirchner, 79, of Kansas City, MO, passed away from cancer on Sunday, April 15, 2012 from a hard fought battle at St. Hospital. Celebration of his life will begin with visitation Wednesday, April 18, 2012 from 6-8pm, with a rosary at 7pm, at St. Ann Catholic Church, 10113 Lexington Ave, Independence, MO. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am, Thursday at the church.

Burial will take place at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Charles was born May 25, 1932 to Francis and Teresa (Gaza) Kirchner. He attended Esbon High School. He served proudly in the United States Navy aboard the Delta from 1950-1954 during the Korean War. After his discharge, he made Kansas City his home.

In 1962, he met Kathleen Kelly, and they married in 1963. He worked for PPG Industries. He enjoyed golfing, especially with his sons; the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs, and the Knight of Columbus. He held numerous offices on the local and state level, presently a state chairman. He was Master of the Fourth Degree Western District, from 1978-1986.

He helped with many tasks at St. School, including working in the concession stands to earn money for its many needs. Charles is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kathleen; sons, Charles and wife, Kim Kirchner; and Gerald Kirchner; step granddaughter, Emmie Shearman; siblings, Kathleen Kirchner Rector, of Allerton, IA; Richard and wife, Marion Kirchner of Kansas City, MO; Mary Jo Kirchner Arneson and husband, Jim of Seward, NE; James and wife, Jane Kirchner of Smith Center, KS; Dan and wife, Tilly of Charlotte, NC and numerous nieces and nephews. McGEE LOWENSTEIN Marcella Elizabeth McGee Lowenstein, 94, passed away peacefully at her home in Independence, Missouri, on April 15, 2012. Marcella was born November 19, 1917, in Catasauqua, Pennsylvania, as the only child to Mabel and Peter McGee. Her family takes comfort in knowing she was welcomed with many open arms to everlasting life. Judy was born Dec. 30, 1948, in Plattsburg, MO, the daughter of Dan S. II and Helen Jo (Broderick) She graduated from Plattsburg High School in 1967, and later received her registered degree from St. in 1970.

She continued in nursing all her life. Judy joined her husband in the family painting business in 1990. Survivors include her loving husband of 42 years, Charles Plummer. They were blessed with four children, Amy and Timothy (and his wife Angela); five grandchildren, Halie, Lacey, Cora, Sierra and Shealynn; siblings, Kay Ewing (husband Jim), Jo Ewing (husband Mike), Dan S. III (wife Georgia); as well as many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend, nurse and caregiver to many. She will be greatly missed. Rosary will begin at 7 p.m. with visitation following the rosary until 8:30 p.m. on Friday, April 20, at St.

MOTT Edna M. Mott, 99, Kansas City, passed away April 14, 2012, at Hidden Lake Care Center. Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 19, at St. Catholic Church, 9020 E.

51st Terrace, KCMO 64133. Inurnment at a later date. Edna was born in Portland, on April 4, 1913, to Herman and Marie Goetz. She married C.L. Mott in 1936, who preceded her in death.

Edna was a successful business woman in the 1950s and 60s. She owned and managed a grocery store, three restaurants, two gas stations and a motel. In the mid- 1960s she began selling real estate and was a member of the original group that developed Metro North Shopping Center. Edna then managed a large mobile home park in the Northland until her retirement in 1989. In retirement she was even busier; volunteering at the Seaton Center, serving 12,450 hours for Cancer Action and served on numerous committees at St.

Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Gladstone, Mo. Survivors include her daughter, Shirley McNulty Woods and husband Bill of Raytown, her grandsons, James McNulty and wife Liz of Las Cruces, NM, Steven McNulty and wife Lisa of Whitehouse, Texas and Daniel McNulty of Kansas City, great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Joseph, Jim, Alisan, Caleb, Sean and Erin. He was a self-employed mechanical engineer and farmer. Steve enjoyed the outdoors especially gardening and fishing. He was very giving and involved in many charities because he always championed the less fortunate.

He will be dearly missed by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Michael. She made it a point to satisfy her sweet tooth and watched the Food Network religiously. Martha was known and loved by all to be feisty, easy to talk to, and candidly funny.

Through the latest years of her life and final moments, her scleroderma progressed but she maintained her unique personality. She was challenged daily with obstacles typically encountered by people much older than her, yet found the strength within herself to carry on as long as she could. Patriot Owasso, OK 74055. Bob was born Feb. 20, 1922, in Arkansas City, to the late William and Olive McCort. He grew up in Hutchinson, and graduated from the University of Kansas with a Degree in Business Administration in 1943. After graduation Bob was commissioned as an Officer in the United States Navy.

He served as Executive Officer and Gunnery Officer on a destroyer escort in the Pacific Theater during World War II. On Oct. 23, 1949, he married Virginia Nell Kramer in St. Joseph, Mo. He worked at General Motors as a Purchasing and Materials Supervisor from Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Kan.

He retired in 1980 after 28 years of service. Bob was an avid reader and after retirement enjoyed traveling the U.S. and Europe with his wife. Bob was a devoted husband of 62 years, a father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia, two sons, William R.

McCort and wife Ann, Russell R. McCort and wife Sharon; two daughters, Mary V. Schneider and husband Jim; Laura E. Randol and husband Tim; seven granddaughters, Maren E. McCort, Ashley E.

McCort, Sarah A. McCort, Rachel R. McCort, Hannah M. McCort, Stephanie V. Schneider, Emily E.

JAROSLAW METELNICKI Jaroslaw Metelnicki, 69, of Overland Park, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Villa St. Joseph. Graveside services will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, April 23, at the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Jerry was born April 27, 1942, in Warsaw, Poland.

After a brave battle with cancer, Jerry peacefully surrendered into the arms of Christ after being anointed and receiving prayers for his departing soul. He is happily reunited with his one true love, Julia. He will live forever in the hearts of his children and grandchildren. As their his passing in 2006. Their meeting was the day of her Because of her love of children, Marcella had 10 children.

Her family spent many summers at their fishing cabin in Minnesota. She also enjoyed reading, dancing, crocheting, arts crafts, and playing cards. Marcella had several employment opportunities during her lifetime; however, her most memorable involved her God- given gift of her attention to detail and perfect vision. During World War II, she was employed as an overhead crane operator for Mack Truck. She was also a proof-reader for Jostens.

Marcella said the secret to her longevity was just God being good to her. Her happiness came from her family, friends, and her church, including Pastor Lee Payne. Marcella will forever be remembered by her beloved children: Nancy (Roland) Schwartz, Dorothy DeAngelis, Carolyn (Marlin) Tirpak, David (Beverly) Beahm, John (Judy) Breinig, Gretchen (Russell) Nolan, and Tommy, Judy, Benjamin, and Jeffery (deceased). Marcella also treasured her 19 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. She will be missed by her countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know her.

A visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at the church.

She was born on August 11, 1928, at Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of George Franklin MaGill and Frances Algeo MaGill. Ruth graduated from Northeast High School and Kansas City Junior College in Kansas City, Missouri before earning her Bachelor of Journalism degree at the University of Missouri in 1949 where she was a member of the Alpha Phi Fraternity. She had a successful career as a marketing executive, retiring in 1987 as the Second Vice President of Business Assurance Company of America. She was a pioneering role model for many working women. Ruth was a lifelong member and active communicant of Grace Holy Trinity (Episcopal) Cathedral where she served on the Vestry and served on multiple committees including the committee that shepherded the Cathedral restoration in 1987.

She was active at the diocesan level as well, serving as a delegate to the West Missouri Diocesan Convention. Ruth was a leader and participant in the Kansas City Public Library Great Books program for many years. As a resident of Bishop Spencer Place for the past eight years, she served on the Council and other committees. She was a dedicated Kansas City Royals and Missouri Tigers fan. Ruth was a world traveler and enthusiastic bird watcher with at least 500 bird species on her life bird list.

She loved all creatures great and small, especially her canine family members. Ruth was a gracious hostess to family and friends visiting the Kansas City area. She was also an accomplished genealogist, bridge player, knitter, wood worker, and painter. Preceding Ruth in death were her parents, her brother-in-law, Thomas Burk Brown her aunts, Dorothy White and Emily MaGill, and her dear friend, Betty Ozenberger. Surviving are her sister, Muriel MaGill Brown, four nieces and nephews, Ruth Brown Evans, Thomas Burk Brown III and wife Darla, David MaGill Brown and Terry, Janet Brown Clanton and husband Wesley, four great nephews, Thomas Earl Evans, Adam Christopher Brown and Melissa, Matthew David Brown, Christopher MaGill Brown, and two step great nephews, Wesley Hoyt Clanton III and wife Heather, and Zachary Allan Clanton and wife Barbara.

She passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at home with her immediate family surrounding her with love.
