like a miracle that she waited for her son to make one of his frequent trips from California before she gave in to death He held her hand and even though her eyes were closed and she speak she would squeeze it to let him know he was there for her Cleo Ann was born on October 16 1916 in Kansas City Following graduation from Redemptorist High School she wanted to be a teacher for young children but her father preferred she go to secretarial school so she could help out in his business during the Depression years at the Tobin Seed Company During this time she met her future husband Harley whom she married in 1940 She had many close friends only two of whom are alive today Mary Cates and Sr Blanche Tucker who was a classmate Her father Thomas Tobin and mother Cleo Mae preceded her in death
